Blanche Dussault
Surrounded by her family, Marie “Blanche” Lucienne Dussault (nee L’Heureux) passed away at the Cut Knife Health Complex, Cut Knife, Saskatchewan on November 21, 2023 at the age of 92 years. Blanche was born January 5, 1931 into a large and exuberant family who were early homesteaders in the Jackfish Lake area of Saskatchewan.
“Our Mother and Grandmother, Blanche, loved nothing more than a family gathering… a visit or a call from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cooking for a family gathering brought her great pleasure and having everyone sit around the table in her kitchen…her secret ingredient was love. She grew abundant gardens harvesting and storing food for her family for the entire winter.”
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Germaine Skoretz, Hélène (Dana) Fisher, Lionel Dussault, Michele (Fred) Farrell; grandchildren, Stacey Skoretz (William Whitehead), Cassandra Skoretz (Mike Bongfeldt), Mikaela (Mathew) McAllister, Levi Fisher, Hannah Fisher, Traé Dussault, Desirée Dussault (Zachary Kendrick), Dawson Farrell, Devon Farrell; great-grandchildren, Grace Whitehead, Madeleine Whitehead, Arden McAllister; sister, Lucienne Luchka; and numerous extended family and friends.
Blanche was predeceased by: her husband, Eugene; son, Bernard; son-in-law, Morris Skoretz; parents, Leonidas and Josephine L’Heureux; her sisters and brothers, Ida, Alice, Alma, Cecile, Marguerite, Julien, Louisa, Eduard, Ralph, Emile, Marie, Moise, Leonard and William.
A prayer vigil was held at the McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Sunday, November 26 at 5:00 PM M.S.T. The Mass of Christian Burial for Blanche was conducted from St. Charles Roman Catholic Church in Marsden, SK, on Monday, November 27 at 1:00 PM M.S.T.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Blanche may be made to St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, Marsden Saskatchewan.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd. of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
