The Lloydminster Bobcats (2-1) hosted the Camrose Kodiaks (1-2-1) of the AJHL south at the Centennial Civic Centre on Sept. 4, winning 3-2 in overtime.
Camrose may have been first on the scoreboard, but the ‘Cats clawed back, giving it everything they had.
Kodiaks’ forward Ludovik Tardif lit the lamp at 10:47 in the first frame to get the jump on the ‘Cats. Matthew Hikida, however, fired back, equalizing at 1:50 in the second period. Assists went to Jaxan Hopko and Remy Spooner.
Bowen Grycan scored for Camrose 45 seconds after Hikida’s goal, making it a 2-1 game. Six minutes before the end of the second period, ‘Cats vet Kade Fendelet responded with a powerplay goal, assisted by Aidan LaRose and Gus El-Tahhan.
