Emergency crews have been busy dealing with two accidents involving oil haulers.
Vermilion Protective Services said the first incident occurred on Sept. 15, outside Paradise Valley, Alta.
According to a social media post, the Paradise Valley Fire Department responded just before noon.
Crews worked to stabilize an oil hauler overturned on a lease road. The incident resulted in a minor leak.
Emergency crews stabilized the scene, assessed the driver and mitigated the spill.
A local towing company attended and recovered the truck and trailer. At 3 p.m., investigators and the company remained in charge of the scene.
In a second incident on Sept. 17, a Vermillion Peace Officer encountered an oil hauler off the roadway. The driver had to avoid another vehicle, which resulted in the deviation. Vermillion County Protective Services released the following statement for drivers.
“A reminder, when driving on gravel roads, be careful when approaching and passing heavy vehicles.”
No injuries or damage was reported. The officer remained on the scene to help direct traffic while recovery occurred.
