The City of Lloydminster is proposing a 4.5 per cent tax increase as part of its budget process.
The draft of the budget covers details of how the city makes its money and spends it. The first step in the process included public consultation and a public awareness campaign through advertising.
Discussions are currently underway. The second step of the budget process took place at the Oct. 30 Governance and Priorities Committee meeting.
The total revenue before transfers in 2024 is $104,071,455 with total expenses for the year being $103,987,853.
Next year is projected to have just over $110 million in revenues and just under $110 million in expenses.
The next step of the draft budget process will have the second presentation take place in front of council on Nov. 25.
