Thanks to a new update, Lloydminster residents will have an easier time navigating the City of Lloydminster’s website.
The soft launch of the updated site happened in the morning of Dec. 5. Administration was working to address any broken links or missing items found post-launch.
The site update offers a more modest design including a new home page layout.
The main menu has been revised to make site navigation more convenient. Content has also been condensed and updated to reduce the total number of pages.
The site’s last significant upgrade was back in 2017.
“Prior to this update, our municipal website, lloydminster.ca, had not changed significantly since early 2017. As people's information habits evolve, it is important our municipality keep pace to ensure the effective delivery of quality information. Our website is where people turn for financial data, frequently asked questions, live streaming of Council meetings, recreation, social supports, and so much more,” said Lloydminster Mayor Gerald Aalbers.
The site will be more search-friendly, as documents and pages have been optimized for searchability.
“In their work to update the site, Administration has prioritized modern accessibility features and an overall structure that is more intuitive for users,” said Aalbers.
Utility billing and other customer services remain mostly the same. The city is encouraging residents to sign up for paperless billing to ensure uninterrupted access to utility bills during Canada Post mail disruptions.
