Lloydminster is one of four Western Canadian finalists on track to host a Dallas Smith concert this fall presented by SiriusXM’s Music Town.

Canada’s border city was shortlisted as a SiriusXM Music Town finalist after receiving nominations from over 400 unique towns across the nation. Lloydminster was selected as one of the top 16 national finalists thanks to the passionate stories of hometown pride and a love for music submitted by residents.

Lloydminster is competing against Estevan, Sask., Sylvan Lake, Alta., and Nanaimo, BC, in the western region.

From now until July 11,  (11:59 pm EDT), Lloydminster residents and neighbouring communities are encouraged to cast their votes for Lloydminster and help earn rally for points through unlimited social actions.

“Time and time again, the Lloydminster community has proven its commitment to showcasing Canada’s Border City on a national stage. Most recently, Lloydminster ranked third in the province and eighth in the country in the participACTION Community Better Challenge in an ongoing effort to win $100,000 to help enhance accessibility at Lloydminster Place,” said Tracy Simpson, Executive Manager, Community Development Services. “Lloydminster’s dedication goes beyond the general community spirit. Our community is always there within seconds of a family or person in need. Let’s band together once again and win the Sirius XM Music Town and give back to the residents and businesses that give so much to Lloydminster.”
