Sask major crimes investigating homicide on Red Pheasant First Nation

On March 6 at approximately 3 a.m., Battlefords RCMP were dispatched to a firearms complaint on the Red Pheasant First Nation.

Officers located a deceased male on a roadway. He has been identified as a 21-year-old male from Red Pheasant First Nation. His family has been notified.

Investigation has determined that there was a verbal altercation at a residence. The victim was leaving the residence when he was fatally injured.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating and there will continue to be an increased police presence in the community.
