The Lloydminster Bobcats have updated their game-day policy regarding youth attending games.
All youth attending games must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be seated during gameplay.
The Bobcats announced the policy change on Nov. 22 via Facebook. The change is intended to enhance fan experience while deterring disruptive behaviour.
"We have always aimed to ensure everyone's experience at our games is exceptional," read the Facebook post. "Unfortunately, we have encountered instances of disruptive behaviour from unaccompanied youth that impact the enjoyment of other fans."
The Bobcats are also hoping the change creates "a more harmonious game day experience for fans of all ages."
"We understand the importance of family fun and want to continue to be a destination for families in the community," said the organization.
"We are committed to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for all of our valued fans."
Bobcats on use of side-doors
The Bobcats also remind fans the Civic Centre's emergency exits on the north and south sides of the building are exit-only.
"These doors are only to be used in the state of emergency," said the team. "Participants caught sneaking into games through the side doors will be escorted out of the arena by security."
"This policy shift aligns with our dedication to creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees, especially families."
