Eulogy of Dave Martens Ginther
Dave was born in New Westminster, BC to Jacob and Sarah Ginther, on June 22,1944. The young family relocated to Saskatoon when he was quite young. Finally settling in Martensville, SK when he was about 6. This is where he spent his childhood and young adult years. He was the oldest of 7 children.
At the age of 15, he started working at a local farm. Worked with his uncles, at Blanchard Foundry. Where the trucking story begins is when he worked for Weibe Movers, for 23 years moving all types of buildings and grain elevators.
In the 80’s, the decision was made to move to the Lloydminster area, in search of a better financial situation for his family working in the oil industry. Originally living in a rental house in Maidstone, then in Lloydminster purchasing their current home on 49th Avenue. This is the house where all his children would grow up, and the place where they returned with their own children. Their forever home, and ours.
Dave worked for Reinhart Trucking with his son Kevin. In 2000 he bought a picker truck and did rig moving and pipe hauling with Bev. They decided they were retiring, which they did when Dad was 72.
Dave and Bev were married on September 26,1964 and stayed devoted to each other for over 59 years. They began their married life together in Saskatoon, SK and shortly after started a family. Dave and Bev relocated to Martensville and continued to expand their family.
Sincerely,
Bev, Sherry (Dave), Kevin (Sharmon), Dawn (Ken), Kerri (Jeremy), Amanda (Brad)
