The County of Vermilion River (CVR) is looking to the future with a policing survey for local residents.
Courtesy of a provincial grant, they are undertaking a comprehensive review of policing in their community.
“In partnership with MNP LLP, a national consulting firm specializing in Community Safety and Wellbeing, we are conducting a thorough analysis of the current policing services in our community,” states a recent post to their website. “This review aims to assess and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our policing to ensure it meets the needs and expectations of our residents.”
The survey includes questions regarding interactions, familiarity, and understanding of different services. Additionally, it requests information about how you receive public safety news, what is important to you, and alternative ideas.
The process can be completed online. However, the county will be hosting two open houses on the issue.
– Monday, Feb. 3, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Islay Community Hall
– Tuesday, Feb. 4, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Dewberry Community Hall
“We invite all residents to share their feedback by completing our public survey, open until Feb. 14. Your insights are vital to this review and will guide recommendations for our community’s policing services,” states the website.
Meanwhile, for more information you can reach out to county offices at 780-846-2244.
