RCMP arrest one for child luring

Vermilion RCMP has charged a Vermilion man with luring a child after an investigation into alleged sexually explicit text messages.

Police received a report about an individual sending inappropriate messages to a youth under 18 on March 1.

Following their investigation, RCMP charged Vermilion resident Patrick John Kelly, 40, with child luring.

Kelly appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody.

Kelly is scheduled to appear in court today (March 4) at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster.

Police did not release further details to protect the victim’s identity.
