Emergency crews are searching for at least one missing person after an avalanche struck near the Lake Louise Ski Resort on Friday (March 14) afternoon.

RCMP, ski patrol, and rescue teams responded to the slide at about 3:45 p.m. Authorities are working to locate and assist anyone trapped in the snow.
Parks Canada, Alberta Health Services, and STARS air ambulance are also on the scene. Officials urge the public to follow instructions from rescue crews.

The RCMP asks anyone with information about missing persons at the resort to call 403-522-3812 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
