The two teams played in front of a packed Centennial Civic Centre with the RCMP beating the firefighters 7-5.

“It was a close game, and we’re proud to take home the win this year—but more importantly, we’re proud of what this event accomplishes for the community,” said Lloydminster RCMP Const. Melanie Flynn.

“The support from everyone who attended and donated makes a real difference. Thank you to all who contributed to another successful Battle of the Badges.”

Proceeds raised from the event go to the Olive Tree, Salvation Army and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lloydminster.

This year’s event raised $4,283 in cash donations and 6,400 pounds of food. The totals raised nearly doubled last year’s totals of $2,745 and 3,000 pounds of food.
