Each year, the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), in partnership with The Royal Bank of Canada, recognizes players for their exemplary commitment to the community.
RBC community ambassadors are known for giving back through volunteerism while inspiring team members to contribute to the community.
Two nominees will be selected as the recipients of a $1,000 scholarship from RBC.
Weller is vying for a scholarship against the Jordan Schanbacher (Bonnyville), Bowden Singleton (Calgary), AJ Schaaf (Camrose), Alex Scheiwiller (Canmore), Xander Schulte (Devon), Luke Marley (Drayton Valley), Aiden Connell (Drumheller), Ryan Arnold (Fort McMurray), Will Harris (Grande Prairie), Hunter Motley (OIds), and Braden Keeble (Whitecourt).
The AJHL also recently raised $1,056 for Food Banks Alberta this season through the partnership with RBC. For every power-play goal scored during the regular season, RBC donated $2.
