George V. Bucknell

Bucknell: On Sunday, September 8th, 2024, George V. Bucknell of Lloydminster, AB, passed away in Viking at the Extendicare Home days after turning 93. Dad was born at the family home near Glenevis, AB, on September 3, 1931. Over the years, George owned several local businesses, including Border Service, Westmount Services, Meridian Service, Bucknell Sales and Service. He also had a contract with the Lloydminster School Division. He had the buses running in Lloydminster and also in the country. George dedicated his life to Jehovah God on April 5, 1943. He took pride in sharing his beliefs with many, including his strong hope in the resurrection. “I have hope towards God, which hope those men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection.” (Acts 24:15) He is survived by his children: Larry (Patti), Marliss (Spencer), and Jan (Janice); 6 grandchildren: Jason (Linda), Tyler (Rachel), Melissa, Misty (Eric), Megan, and Jeremy (Jacinda); 8 great-grandchildren: Blaise, Brett, Keira, Berlin, Natalya, Alex, Adella, and Kenton; 2 sisters: Florence, Elsie; 4 brothers-in-law: Herb (Gladys), Wayne (Betty), Rick (Mary), Ron (Betty); and 3 sisters-in-law: Donna (Warren), Agnes (Chris), and Sandra; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Audrey, great-granddaughter Trista, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters. A memorial was held on September 21 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Lloydminster, SK, followed by a luncheon at the Legacy Center, Lloydminster, AB.
