The suspect dumped large boulders in front of the prisoner bay before damaging five police vehicles before fleeing on foot.

Police Dog Services and a drone team joined the search and officers found the man in a tree line northwest of the RCMP detachment.

Police arrested him and took him into custody. He is now waiting for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing. Police have not released his name because charges have not yet been sworn in court.

An updated media release is expected soon.
