UPDATED – VIDEO: Collision closes 75 Ave.

Updated morning, Aug. 14:

RCMP confirmed one youth, who was the driver, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The weather is believed to have been a factor in the collision.

Original 5:57 p.m. Aug. 13:

Emergency personnel are currently on the scene of a motor vehicle collision on 75 Ave. south of Sobeys.

Multiple Lloydminster Fire Department vehicles, RCMP and paramedics are attending after the call came in around 4:30 p.m.

From a distance, it appears at least one vehicle has gone into the ditch and possibly struck a hydro pole.

RCMP has closed the southbound lane on 75 Ave. at Sobeys and there is no timeline for reopening.

On-scene officials ask motorists avoid the area.

Updates will be made as more information becomes available.
