The Lloydminster ALERT team helped Cold Lake RCMP wrap up a months-long drug trafficking investigation on Aug. 21, which resulted in two arrests.

Police executed four search warrants in Cold Lake, seizing about 70 grams of suspected cocaine, 100 grams of suspected methamphetamine, prescription pills, over $26,000 in cash, a loaded 40-calibre Glock and other weapons.

Police arrested two Cold Lake residents. Karen Desjarlais, 42, faces charges of trafficking a controlled substance and failing to comply with release conditions.

Warren Johannesen-Quail, 35, faces multiple charges, including drug trafficking, possession of prohibited firearms and possession of proceeds of crime.

Both remain in custody and documents show they will be back in the Court of Justice in Cold Lake on Aug. 26.
