Bobcats beat MOB 4-2 in Hub home-opener

The Lloydminster Bobcats bested the Fort McMurray Oil Barons (MOB) 4-2 in the 2025-26 season-opener at the Cenovus Energy Hub on Sept. 19.

Fort Mac’s Trennen Redlick opened the scoring for the MOB early in the first before an equalizer from Lloydminster’s Esteban Cinq-Mars.

Matthew Hikida made it 2-1 for the ‘Cats five minutes into the second frame before Cinq-Mars scored his second of the night.

Jack Ferguson gave Lloydminster a 4-1 lead nine minutes into the third before Jaggar John snuck a second one past ‘Cats netminder Sam Madgett for a 4-2 final.

The Bobcats host the Oil Barons again tomorrow night (Sept. 20) to wrap up opening-weekend action.
