The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Legacy Centre, 5101 46 St., and will feature a presentation from RCMP Insp. Brian Nicholl at 6:15 p.m. outlining current policing priorities in the city. After the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to meet committee members and discuss local policing concerns.
Formed on May 5, the committee consists of six public members and one city council representative. The committee was created in accordance with the Alberta Police Act to ensure residents’ perspectives are reflected in decisions about the city’s policing contract with the RCMP, including staffing levels, annual priorities and community policing strategies.
The open house aims to give residents a better understanding of the committee’s role and collect feedback to help guide the 2026 RCMP policing priorities for Lloydminster.
Those unable to attend in person can share their thoughts through a short online questionnaire, available from Oct. 29 to Nov. 13 at Lloydminster.ca/MPC.
The City encourages all residents to take part and help shape the future of policing in their community.
