Lloydminster RCMP arrest woman after assault and vehicle theft

A woman faces multiple charges after Lloydminster RCMP responded to a report of an assault and stolen vehicle on Nov. 19.

Mounties say they launched an investigation shortly after receiving the report and quickly located the stolen vehicle. RCMP police dog services were brought in, which led officers to a home near Father Gorman School at 48 Ave. and 32 St.

Police contained the residence while investigators obtained a warrant to enter. Once executed, officers arrested three people inside the home. Two were released on conditions as the investigation continued. A third suspect, identified during the ongoing investigation, was later arrested separately.

RCMP has charged 40-year-old Amanda Ironstand of Lloydminster with assault with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.

Ironstand appeared before a justice of the peace and was released on conditions. She is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Dec. 15.
