SAINT-VALLIER — One minor is dead and another is in hospital after shots were fired at a home in St-Vallier-de-Bellechasse, Que., east of Quebec City.

Police were called to a residence around 4 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report about two people who had been injured.

One victim was found unconscious and taken to hospital where they were declared dead.

The second victim was seriously injured but expected to survive.

Quebec provincial police Sgt. Frédéric Deshaies says there have been no arrests in the case.

He says it’s too early for police to release details about the shooting, adding that the death is not currently being considered a homicide.
