A pekinese named Prince was awarded Best In Show at the Canadian Kennel Club’s National Championship Dog Show over the weekend.

The Canadian Kennel Club says over half a million Canadians attended one of 4,000 purebred dog events across Canada last year.

Founded in 1888, the Canadian Kennel Club says it is the primary registry body for purebred dogs in Canada and currently recognizes 187 breeds.
