The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Canadian Tire, Walmart or Real Canadian Superstore on Dec. 6. Residents can drop off non-perishable food items, new unwrapped toys or monetary donations.

Members of Lloydminster’s emergency services, including fire rescue, the RCMP, municipal enforcement and local EMS and paramedics, will be at each location accepting donations.

“The holiday season can be especially challenging for many households,” said Const. Melanie Flynn, Lloydminster RCMP school resource officer. “This event brings our community together to support two organizations that make an incredible difference for local families.”

Mayor Gerald Aalbers is encouraging anyone who can to contribute to the drive.

“Our first responders are not only dedicated to keeping our community safe, but also to supporting the people who call Lloydminster home,” said Aalbers. “I encourage everyone who is able to contribute to this year’s drive. Even a small donation can make the season brighter for a family in need.”
