Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he’s praying for the victims and their families and that everyone must stand against antisemitism.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says her heart is heavy and that nobody should be killed or experience violence because of their faith.
Jewish community and advocacy group B’nai B’rith says it’s outraged by the attack and is calling on Ottawa to take measures to prevent similar violence in Canada.
At least 38 people were wounded in the attack, which saw two gunmen open fire on a crowd gathered on Bondi Beach in Sydney to celebrate the beginning of Hanukkah.
