Lloydminster RCMP is seeking two suspects who they believe have made purchases using counterfeit currency.
Between July 1 and Dec. 12, RCMP received 17 reports of counterfeit banknotes being passed at local businesses in the city. Similar occurrences have also been reported in the Edmonton area and investigators believe these incidents may be related.
According to RCMP, the investigation has revealed two suspects, one male and one female, who are believed to have attended retail businesses and made purchases using counterfeit currency.
