OTTAWA — The National Council of Canadian Muslims says a delegation of Canadians that includes six members of Parliament was denied entry to the West Bank at the Israeli border today.
A statement issued by the group says the delegation was barred from entry by Israeli authorities as “public safety threats.”
The trip was sponsored by The Canadian-Muslim Vote and the delegation had plans to meet with displaced Palestinians in the West Bank, where the Israeli government recently approved the construction of 764 new homes in Jewish settlements.
Five Liberal MPs and one NDP MP are part of the delegation, which returned to Jordan today.
The NCCM says the Israeli government’s refusal to allow Canadian parliamentarians into the country raises serious concerns about transparency and accountability.
Canada formally recognized Palestinian statehood in September but said some conditions must be met first, including elections in the new year that Hamas can’t contest.

I remember when the Canadian government under Justin Trudeau allowed for a X Ukrainian Nazi to appear in the House of Commons I thought how bloody stupid and ignorant to the concerns of history now I hear that Israel does not want to let Canadian MPs into Israel why the hell would they let the Canadians in the Canadian government is promoting basically hatred before for Jews it’s terrible while allowing demonstrations and Jewish neighbourhoods in Toronto and actually in Hamilton Ontario I don’t blame you really government for refusing Canadian MPs the Canadian peas are pathetic
I am writing to this site by way of voice and not by the typed written word so it is a little inaccurate and how it picks up my detailed voice print in the last comment there may be some small grammatical errors that might be determined the wrong way so basically I’ll just say I think that the actions of the Canadian government when they invited a Nazi to basically speak knowing full well who he was and what he represented I have a habit of swearing pissed off I really have a foul sometimes so I will say that to express my thought on how I feel so I don’t embarrass myself too much let me say I’ll call it shortsighted but that shortsightedness is the reason that the world is in the situation with is right now when before the Canadian government invited the Nazi to speak the issue of racism and the ugly head of antisemitism hadn’t really developed since that day it took off so Canada is at fault so why the hell would these Israeli let in Canadians
