Three youths charged after serious assault in North Battleford

Three 17-year-old males are facing aggravated assault charges following a serious assault early Monday in North Battleford, according to Battlefords RCMP.

Police say officers were called to a business on 100 St. at about 1:10 a.m. on Dec. 15 after receiving a report of an assault.

Investigators determined a group of individuals assaulted an adult male. The victim was taken for medical treatment for injuries described by police as serious.

Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services assisted in the investigation, tracking to a residence on 99th Street, where officers arrested three male youths.

Each of the youths has been charged with aggravated assault under Section 268 of the Criminal Code.

The accused cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

They are scheduled to appear in North Battleford provincial court on Dec. 16.
