The longtime Lloyd staple has found a new home in the Canadian Tire building. The business has been in Lloydminster for over two decades and was in need of a new location.

“The old building we started in 2004, it’s been an aged building,” said Hardeep Singh, director of stores for Prairies North. “Once we had the opportunity to go to a brand-new building, the old Canadian Tire building, a well-known spot here in Lloydminster, we just felt that this was a great move for us.”

The new store is 26,700 sq. ft., 6,000 sq. ft. bigger than the previous store. Singh says the store offers The Brick a better customer experience and allows for better furniture displays.

“We went to a polished concrete floor which is much easier to look after,” he said. “We’ve got the new LED, bright light. You can see in here it’s super bright, everything lights up really well.”

Another perk of the new building is the warehouse.

“We got the expanded warehouse,” said Singh. “We ship all our product from Edmonton to deliver in Lloydminster. It’s a great location to store that product.”

On top of the advantages of the new building, he says the name recognition of their new spot goes a long way.

“The Canadian Tire building that was here was well-known. So, whenever we say, ‘Oh we opened a Brick store (in) the old Canadian Tire building,’ everybody knows where that is, which is a bonus for us,” said Singh.

Reflecting on The Brick’s time in Lloydminster, he says the community’s been good.

“We’ve been in Lloydminster for quite a while, we like the community, we like the people,” said Singh. “Retail has always been good in Lloydminster.”
