RCMP seize 4 kg of cocaine near Maidstone

Saskatchewan RCMP say they seized about four kilograms of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop on Highway 16 near Maidstone.

The Jan. 8 stop by the roving traffic unit was initially for a vehicle equipment violation. Further investigation led to the arrest of the adult female driver.

RCMP identified the woman as 41-year-old Leanne Harcourt of Edmonton, Alta. She faces two charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act: possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

Harcourt is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on March 9.
