Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating after a 30-year-old man was found dead in a residence in Vermilion.
Vermilion RCMP were called to a residence on 52 Ave. in Vermilion where the male resident was found dead.
RCMP secured the scene and spoke to the person who found the body.
Alberta RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit was called in and took carriage of the investigation.
Lloydminster RCMP Forensic Identification Section also attended the scene to assist.
An autopsy is scheduled on Jan. 23 at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.
A man was arrested on scene but has since been released. The investigation is ongoing and updates are anticipated once more information becomes available.
