Battlefords RCMP responded to a report of a robbery outside a business on Railway Avenue East in North Battleford at about 10 p.m. on Aug. 26.

Investigators determined a male suspect threatened a victim with a weapon and tried to rob them before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Police discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen in North Battleford earlier that evening.

A short time later, officers located the suspect sitting in the stolen vehicle outside a residence. When police turned on their emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle sped away.

During the escape attempt, the suspect hit multiple parked vehicles before abandoning the stolen truck and running away on foot. Officers located and arrested him outside a nearby residential property.

Police noted no one was inside the parked vehicles when they were struck.

Jeffrey Holliday, 32, of North Battleford, faces charges including robbery with an offensive weapon, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from a peace officer, failure to stop after an accident and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

He is also charged with resisting a peace officer, being disguised with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, common nuisance endangering life and failing to comply with a release order condition.

Holliday is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Aug. 28.
