Wainwright RCMP were called to assist Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Wainwright this afternoon following reports of a fire in a training area.

Emergency crews responded to the base at about 4 p.m. on Oct. 17, deploying multiple resources to support base personnel.
Police report that their initial involvement has begun to wind down, though resources remain on standby should further assistance be required.
The Canadian Armed Forces will release any additional details regarding the incident.
