RCMP charge three after reported sexual assault at Lloydminster hotel

Lloydminster RCMP has charged three men following an alleged sexual assault reported at a local hotel in the early morning hours of Dec. 5.

Police were called to the hotel at approximately 3:47 a.m. for a noise complaint. When officers arrived, they spoke with an individual in the lobby who reported they had been sexually assaulted by people inside the building.

Mounties located the hotel room in question and arrested three suspects. A search warrant was later executed with assistance from the Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section and the Forensic Identification Section.

As a result of the investigation, Karan Joshi, 39, and Ghanshyam Verma, 22, both of Lloydminster and Joginder Momi, 45, of Edmonton, were each charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement.

All three accused were initially remanded into custody after appearing before a justice of the peace. They have since been released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 12, 2026.
