Lloydminster Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), with the assistance of Lloydminster General Investigations Section (GIS), Lloydminster Police Dog Unit (PDS), Eastern Alberta CRU, Vermilion Traffic Unit, RCMP Air Services, North Battleford Crime Reduction Team and Lloydminster Bylaw Enforcement, conducted a four-day operation targeting gangs, drugs and repeat offenders.
On July 18, Lloydminster CRU lead a four-day multiple-unit operation where over 30 persons were arrested, 65 warrants executed and 29 new charges laid. Search warrants were executed on a residential property and two vehicles. Additionally, a stolen vehicle was recovered and a total of 135 tickets were issued.
On July 19, RCMP conducted a traffic stop which led to the seizure of:
- 120 grams of suspected cocaine
- 12.6 grams of suspected fentanyl
- $600.00 in Canadian currency
The driver of the vehicle, Todd Antonenko, a 37-year-old resident of Waseca, was charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking x2
- Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5,000
Antonenko was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. Antonenko is scheduled to appear at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on July 27.
On July 19, RCMP conducted a traffic stop which led to the seizure of:
- Assorted drug paraphilia
- Unmarked tobacco
- $2,130.00 in Canadian currency
The driver of the vehicle, Scott Lamoureux, a 29-year-old resident of Lloydminster, was charged with:
- Possession of unmarked tobacco
- Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5000
Lamoureux was released and is scheduled to appear at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on Aug. 21.
On July 20, RCMP located a male at a rural property just northeast of Lloydminster. The male was wanted on warrants for multiple violent offences. During the execution of arrest, the male attempted to flee in a vehicle but RCMP was able to contain the vehicle and arrest the male without incident.
A search of the vehicle recovered:
- 30.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- $2,940.00 in Canadian currency
Lance Harper, a 40-year-old resident of Lloydminster, was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5,000
- Flight from a peace officer
The vehicle passenger, Wanita Harper, a 33-year-old resident of Lloydminster, was charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5,000
Both Lance Harper and Wanita Harper were brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. Both are scheduled to appear at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on July, 27, 2023.
On July 21, RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence near 47 Ave. and 39 Street in Lloydminster. During the search of the residence, RCMP located:
- 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- 26 grams of suspected fentanyl
- $220.00 in Canadian currency
- Bolt action rifle
David Erick, 52, Melanie Myo, 32, Dorian Taylor, 37, all residents of Lloydminster were charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking suspected fentanyl
Additionally, Taylor was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking suspected methamphetamine
Erick, was also charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking suspected fentanyl
- Careless storage of a firearm
Erick and Myo were released from custody and have their next Court appearance on Aug. 28 at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster. Taylor was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. Taylor is scheduled to appear at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on July 27.
