Chris Wennekamp
Chris Wennekamp passed away on December 14th, 2023 in her home at the age of 77 years.
Chris was born on May 6, 1946. She was the youngest daughter of Dick and Barbara Roberton and had two older sisters, Jean and Margie. They grew up on Belmont Farm just north of Lloydminster.
Chris attended Durness school until Grade 4, and then went to Queen Elizabeth School in Lloydminster. In 1964 she entered the University of Alberta School of Nursing and graduated in 1967.
Chris married Werner Wennekamp on July 22, 1972, and then moved onto the family farm, Devondale Stock Farm, southwest of Lloydminster, where she lived until her passing.
Chris is survived by her husband Werner, her sister Margie Rowe, her children Ryan (Jill) Wennekamp, Michelle (Jamie) Barnes, Trent (Rebecca) Wennekamp, Alisha (Pete) Fridrich, and her ten grandchildren: Luke, Gabe, Addison, Brett, Barret, Paul, Matt, Ben, Tyler and Hannah.
Chris was predeceased by her mother; Barbara, her father; Dick, and her sister; Jean.
Donations in memory of Chris may be made to the Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation. The family would like to thank the nurses honour guard, all of those who texted, called, stopped in and attended the funeral to offer condolences, McCaw’s Funeral Home staff for handling the funeral arrangements, and for all those who have sent food and flowers. Chris will be dearly missed by her family and so fondly remembered.
