Fire closes section of 67 street

Earlier this afternoon, emergency services were called to 67 Street for reports of a fire by a Good Samaritan.

Upon arrival in an area between Range Road 11 (Airport Road) and Highway 17 they discovered a fire off the roadway.

According to emergency services personnel on scene, an unhoused encampment caught fire in the bushes off to the side of the road, and there appeared to be no injuries.

The roadway is now reopened.
