VIPs turn heads at oil show

The Lloydminster Heavy Oil Show turned heads Wednesday at a site tour and lunch forum. The event featured Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.

The two premiers toured the exhibits at Lloyd Ex. The party included Lloydminster Mayor Gerald Aalbers, Lloydminster MLA Colleen Young, Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright MLA Garth Rowswell, Battlefords-Lloydminster MP Rosemary Falk and Saskatchewan Minister of Energy and Resources, Jim Reiter.

Smith and Moe answered questions on everything from pipelines to carbon taxes from moderator Deidra Garyk, an independent energy advocate, during a lunch forum in the WTS Convention Centre.

The premiers also joined Aalbers for a media scrum in the Prairie Room.

The oil show runs from Sept.11-12 with indoor and outdoor exhibits.
