Shooting, robbery near the Battlefords

A shooting and armed robbery on Saulteaux First Nation is under investigation by Battlefords RCMP. The incident occurred on Nov. 30 at approximately 1:10 a.m.

RCMP officers responded immediately after receiving the report. Investigators determined that an adult male was parked on the side of a grid road when a group of individuals approached him. They discharged a firearm, striking the man, and stole his vehicle.

Emergency services transported the victim to the hospital. Medical staff described his injuries as serious.

Authorities later recovered the stolen vehicle. Saskatchewan RCMP’s General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Services are assisting Battlefords RCMP with the case.

The investigation remains active, and updates will follow as they become available.
