Feb. 14’s early-morning armed robbery in North Battleford is now considered a kidnapping.

Saskatchewan RCMP‘s General Investigation Section, with help from the Battlefords RCMP Detachment, is investigating the kidnapping of 33-year-old Leanna Frenchman in North Battleford. Furthermore, officers found the red 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix on St. Laurent Drive at about 10:30 a.m.

The suspect and Frenchman were not with the vehicle. Police are patrolling the area to find Frenchman. Residents will see a greater police presence while the search continues.

Earlier that morning, an armed man stole a vehicle on Railway Ave. East. One woman escaped but Frenchman remained inside the vehicle as the suspect drove away. Her safety is a concern to investigators. Additionally, they believe Frenchman may be with the armed suspect, whom she does not know.

Frenchman is 5’6″ tall, weighs 105 lbs, and has brown eyes and brown or blonde hair. She has a scar from her lip to her nose.

RCMP are currently searching for a male suspect with a round face wearing a baggy red sweater with jeans. Unfortunately, no further description is available at this time.

Police ask anyone who saw suspicious activity or has home surveillance video from St. Laurent Drive this morning to contact them. If you have seen Frenchman or have information, call your local police at 310-RCMP or 911 in an emergency. You can also report anonymously to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
