Rush hour collision sends one to hospital

A two-vehicle collision on Range Road 20 at Highway 16 eastbound slowed rush-hour traffic Tuesday afternoon.

Crews from Blackfoot Fire and Rescue, Medavie Health Services West – Northeast Alberta, the Kitscoty RCMP and County staff responded.

Emergency crews arrived quickly, stabilized the scene, checked both drivers, and set up traffic control.

One person went to hospital as a precaution, while Another was treated on scene and released.

The RCMP did not release any names.

Drivers should take extra care when emergency workers are nearby.

“Remember, when passing emergency vehicles — slow your speed,” said County of Vermilion River officials in a public notice.
