At approximately 9:15 a.m. April 9, Lloydminster RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision.
Upon arrival at the Highway 16 and 62 Ave. intersection, they located an SUV blocking the southbound lanes of Highway 16. However, the other vehicle, a van, had careened into a light post on the intersection’s southwest corner.

The collision severely damaged both vehicles and firefighters from the Lloydminster Fire Department helped stabilize the scene. Two ambulances attended to the victims.
One ambulance left the scene with a victim on board, headed to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Social media reports indicated eastbound traffic was slow starting as far back as Walmart.
Crews were still on scene starting the removal of vehicles at 9:50 a.m.
