The Friends of Cenovus Energy Hub was formed in February 2023, and at the time, eight members were appointed.
They are in charge of fundraising and helping with sponsorships.
“We meet about once every three or four weeks, they are in charge of anything to do with fundraising. They’re the committee that puts together the fundraisers, they volunteer to try to get them started, also ongoing. They get into booths when we have booths on the weekends,” said Joël Turcotte, director of recreation and cultural services.
“As far as sponsorship, although the sponsorship coordinator at the city continues to help with that, they provide him with leads.”
Coun. Justin Vance asked if the new members would be replacing current members or if they are new positions on the board.
“These three members would be replacing three others,” said Turcotte.
There are eight public members on the board.
Council approved the appointment of Chad Kozak, Laurie Makichuk and Siobhan McCaffrey to the Friends of Cenovus Energy Hub Committee.
