The Fill the Seats Radiothon will be hitting the air on April 9 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Country 95.9.

The goal of the 11-hour broadcast is to raise $25,000.

Fill the Seats is nearing its fundraising goal of $8 million, currently sitting at the $6 million mark.

“The Fill the Seats campaign has shown people in the Lloydminster area appreciate the new facility and the events it will soon bring. It also shows our appreciation of the corporate sponsors’ contribution, and how much that means to all of us,” said Todd Kirkpatrick, chair of Friends of Cenovus Energy Hub.

Done in partnership with Stingray Media, local athletes, community members and businesses will share their stories throughout the day.

“Your donation, big or small, won’t just help build a hockey arena and event centre, you’re building an inclusive space that will allow people of all ages and abilities to make unforgettable memories,” said Don Bowey, manager of Cenovus Energy Hub.

“This facility is going to bring entertainment opportunities to Lloydminster like we’ve never seen before, including large concerts and major sporting events.”

People can support the event by tuning in or donating at Lloydminster.ca/Radiothon.

  1. You say fill the seats, but what does that mean? Just call in an donate money or you get something for your donation? You didn’t quite say how the fundraiser works. Sorry it’s just confusing
