Wintfley was born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa before coming to Canada and eventually calling Alberta home.
For the past 10 years, Wintfley held positions in municipal government across the private and public sector, most recently as the CAO for the Town of Coronation.
“This position has taught me a great deal about small-town politics and the intricacies of polarization and internal political dynamics,” said Wintfley. “The challenges faced within the complex environment of a small town have provided lasting lessons I will carry with me into the future.”
He says Bonnyville gives him an opportunity to grow.
“As a younger CAO, this is a chance to make a meaningful impact and to be part of something with enormous potential,” said Wintfley. The possibilities for growth, innovation and collaboration are incredibly exciting.”
Town of Bonnyville Mayor Elisa Brosseau is excited to have him on board.
“Quinton’s energy and experience aligns well with Council’s vision,” she said. “We’re confident he will hit the ground running and become an integral part of both our organization and the community we serve.”
Wintfley will begin work at the town June 16.
