“Hunting in Saskatchewan offers exceptional recreational opportunities, not only for our residents, but also for visitors across the world,” said Travis Keisig, environment minister.
The provincial government is giving hunters tools and recommendations to prepare for the upcoming season.
A free copy of the hunter’s guide is available at Saskatchewan.ca/hunting. The guide contains a detailed list of season dates, options for licenses and fees and highlights for what’s new for 2025.
The government also has tools online to help people plan out their hunting trips recognizing the value they bring to the province.
“Our government values the vital role hunters play as stewards of our natural landscapes and as contributors to local economies through tourism and community engagement,” said Keisig.
Hunters are also reminded they do need permission to hunt on private lands. The Saskatchewan government says 85 per cent of the land in southern Sask. Is privately owned or operated. Consent to hunt on the land can be provided in writing, orally or through signage.
Big game draw and regular licenses are available to purchase as of Aug. 1. Hunters can pick up a license online through the hunting, angling and trapping license system, in-person at a Government of Saskatchewan field office or from any Saskatchewan hunting license issuer or by phone at 1-855-848-4773.
