Bonnyville RCMP has arrested 23-year-old Sam Nunweiler after locating a stolen vehicle in Fort Kent, Alta, a hamlet northeast of Bonnyville.

Nunweiler, a resident of Fort Smith, was charged with:
- Possession of stolen property;
- Dangerous operation;
- Drive while disqualified.
A tip from the public on Sept. 23 led police to the vehicle, which was parked on a property in Fort Kent. A male suspect departed the residence and RCMP deployed a tire deflation device on the vehicle, which fled into a field where it was soon located abandoned.
With the help of a police dog, EAD CRU, RPAS drone and officers from Cold Lake detachment, RCMP located the suspect and took into custody.
Nunweiler was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded in custody. His next court date set for Oct. 7, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Bonnyville.
