“The Beba Project is a service club at Holy Rosary and we provide a multitude of service. One of them is collecting food for the St. Anthony’s Parish, five loaves, two fish ministry,” said teacher-leader Lisa Marie Kreese. “We go collecting food and deliver it to the church and they hand it out to families in need.”

According to Kreese, the Beba Project has a small army of about 60 students ready to improve stewardship within the community this Halloween.

“The students will gather in the library and prepare, go door-to-door collecting food and then meet at the church to sort for the ministry,” she said, noting last year’s collection was a huge success. “It was overwhelming for their volunteers. The entire wall of the parish was full (of food) about four feet high.”

Another big focus of the Beba Project is supporting families by providing blankets, diapers and other items to help mothers. All items are purchased through Beba fundraising initiatives held throughout the year and donations are always welcome.

“We’ve had people drop off donations at the office and say ‘This is for the Beba Project,’ and it get deposited into account we can use (to buy supplies),” said Kreese.

“We’ve had partnerships with Cenovus Energy and Synergy Credit Union and Arby’s has provided us with sandwiches at cost when we run concessions for football and volleyball games.”
