We’ve been getting a lot of questions about the changes at the Meridian Source and we want to make on thing clear. We’re here to help, Lloydminster.

Have you had a chance to check out our newly revamped e-edition? By the numbers, many new readers have found their local news and sports on our digital pages at meridiansource.ca.
If you’re curious about what’s changed since the newspaper decided the most financially viable option was to go fully digital, here’s a quick rundown.
The fonts are about double the size, making it easier to read the paper on a smartphone. Gone are the days of pinching your screen to zoom in and scrolling from left to right.
We’ve designed the paper so readers can simply click the link and start reading.
Another exciting change is interactive advertising. If an advertiser has a website, ads are now hyperlinked directly to it, giving readers easy access to more information about their business.
I’ve also been talking about videos in the e-edition since the rollout of the digital-only format, as seen on Page 3 of last week’s edition. This is exciting for a few reasons, but it’s also an example of the Meridian Source adapting to the times.
We know people consume their news differently than in years past. Everything is faster, and people tend to prefer a quick video over a 650-plus-word story. We’ll still have full-length feature stories on meridiansource.ca, but they will primarily live on the website instead of in the e-edition.
We’ve also been inviting readers to subscribe to our newsletter. It has been landing in subscribers’ inboxes for a few months, but we’ve made some changes to what gets sent out.
The newsletter will continue to be delivered three times a week. Tuesday and Saturday will feature our standard newsletter, while Thursday’s edition will include the e-edition.
The e-edition will be downloadable for printing at home or for later reading.
We know there have been many recent changes, and we thank the community for adapting with us. Our goal is to continue delivering factual content from writers you’ve come to trust.
No fluff. No clickbait. Just news you can trust.
Have any questions or need help subscribing to our newsletter or e-edition? Give us a call at 306-825-5111. We’re more than happy to help.
