Mounties responded to a report of gunfire in the area of the Lloydminster Travelodge at about 8 p.m.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to public safety, but residents should expect an increased police presence while officers investigate.

Investigators are searching for two white, four-door BMW SUVs with unknown licence plates that were last seen heading southbound on 50 Ave. near 36 St. One of the SUVs is believed to have rear-end damage.

Police are also looking to identify and locate a black Dodge Ram pickup truck and a dark-coloured Hyundai sedan that may be connected to the incident.

Investigators have released descriptions of three people of interest:

  • A suspect wearing a tan hoodie, tan pants and white shoes.
  • A woman wearing a red shirt and black pants.
  • A man wearing a white shirt and green shorts with white trim.

Anyone with information, surveillance video or dashcam footage is asked to contact the Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
